Issue/Question
How can I determine if a WKU ITS service or system is down, impaired, or otherwise suffering an outage?
Environment
- WKU ITS-Supported Software or System
Cause
Service disruptions may occur due to outages, scheduled maintenance, or other issues that affect one or more ITS-supported systems. When multiple users are impacted, ITS posts status updates on the Systems Status page.
Resolution
Use the following steps to determine whether a service interruption has been reported.
Check Current System Status:
- Navigate to ITS - Systems Status.
- Select All Systems tab.
- Locate system or service.
- Review the Status column.
Note: Refer to the Status Key for the meaning of each status icon.
- If the status is anything other than Normal, select system name to view additional details.
Check Scheduled Downtimes:
- If system status is Normal, select Scheduled Downtimes tab.
- Verify system is not currently undergoing scheduled maintenance.
If the Issue Is Not Listed:
- If the system status is Normal and no scheduled downtime is listed, the issue may not be widespread or may not have been reported to ITS.
- During ITS Service Desk hours, contact ITS Service Desk.
- Outside of Service Desk hours, submit a request through the Service Catalog.
If you need assistance, please contact the ITS Service Desk or submit a service request by clicking the Request Service button.
