Running a Scan (macOS)

Issue/Question

I got a message from Symantec that a file was quarantined, how do I make sure my computer does not have a virus?

Environment

Resolution

If you have recently updated your Mac to a newer operating system, older versions of Symantec Endpoint Protection may not operate properly. Please contact the ITS Service Desk.
  1. Open the Applications folder on your Mac. 
  2. Open the Symantec Solutions folder. 
  3. Double-click to open Symantec Endpoint Protection
  4. Click Scan in the bottom-right corner. 
  5. Select Run custom scan or Run full scan, depending on your needs.
     Note: If you select the run a custom scan you must specify drives and/or folders to be scanned.
