Receiving Page Can't Be Displayed Error

When I try to open up an IVS class/meeting recording link I receive this error:

Turn on TLS 1.0, TLS 1.1, and TLS 1.2 in Advanced settings and try connecting to again. If this error persists, contact your site administrator.

  • Internet Explorer 11

This error can be caused by running Windows Update. There is an update that deselects the TLS protocol in IE settings.

You will need to turn on TLS 1.0, 1.1 and 1.2 in the Internet Explorer.

  1. Click the  (wheel icon).
  2. Select Internet Options.
  3. On the Advanced tab, check the following boxes under the Security heading, if not already checked:

    • Use SSL 2.0
    • Use SSL 3.0
    • Use TSL 1.0
    • Use TSL 1.1
    • Use TSL 1.2
  4. Click OK.
  5. Refresh the page.
  6. The problem should be resolved.
Note: The next page may display a message There is a problem with this website's security certificate. Click Continue to this website (not recommended). There is a known issue with this website's certificate.
  7. Enter the PIN.
  8. Click OK.
  9. You may be prompted to select a player. Select the available media player option that is installed on your computer (Windows Media Player or Silverlight Player).
  10. Click OK.
  11. If Silverlight Player was selected, the Display mixed content? box will appear on the screen. Click Yes.
  12. The recording archive should now play.
