Using IVS Recording Links

How do I use an IVS recording link that I have been sent from an AVS Support Specalist?

Resolution

To access an IVS recording, please follow the instructions below.

Open the link (or URL) provided in the email.  If link appears as a hyperlink (underlined blue text), you may left click and it will open automatically in your default browser.  If your default browser is not a supported browser (listed below) or does not appear as a hyperlink, copy the entire URL and paste it in the address bar of the supported browsers.

Internet Explorer Instructions (Supported Versions: 9, 10 and 11)

  1. After opening the web page in Internet Explorer, you may receive this alert: There is a problem with this website’s certificate.  There is a known issue with this website's certificate but is safe to access.  
  2. Click Continue to this website (not recommended).
  3. Enter the PIN (provided in the email) and click OK.
  4. Select the appropriate media player and click OK.
    Note: If you select Silverlight, you may receive this alert: Display mixed content?  Click Yes.

Chrome Instructions (Supported Versions: 38 and 39)

  1. Enter the PIN (provided in the email) and click OK.
  2. Select the appropriate media player and click OK.
  3. If you select Silverlight, you may receive this alert: Display mixed content?  Click Yes.

Firefox Instructions (Supported Versions: 32 and 33)

  1. After opening the web page in Firefox, you may receive this alert: This connection is Untrusted.  There is a known issue with this website's certificate but is safe to access.  
  2. Click I Understand the Risks.
  3. Click Add Exception.
  4. Click Confirm Security Exception.
  5. Enter the PIN (provided in the email) and click OK.
  6. Select the appropriate media player and click OK.
    Note: If you select Silverlight, you may receive an alert Display mixed content?.   Click Yes. Be sure to Allow Silverlight plug-in to run.

Safari Instructions (Supported Versions: OS X 7.1 and 8.0 / iOS 8.1.1)

  1. After opening the web page in Safari, you may receive this alert: Safari can’t verify the identity of the website vc-rcdr1.wku.edu.  There is a known issue with this website's certificate but it is safe to access. 
  2. Click Continue.
  3. Enter the PIN (provided in the email) and click OK.

 Note:  For best performance, please make sure your computer is up-to-date on any software patches and system updates.  It is also recommended to access the link using a high-speed internet connection.
