First, make sure your default browser is set to your preferred browser.
- Right-click the Start Menu and select Apps and Features.
- On the left, select Default Apps.
- Under Web Browser, select your preferred browser. WKU ITS recommends either Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox.
Next, make sure your HTTP protocols are correctly set to this same browser.
- At the bottom of the page, select Choose default apps by protocol.
- Scroll down and verify that both HTTP and HTTPS match your preferred default browser.
Lastly, make sure that the Windows registry has the correct setting for .html.
- Right-click the Start Menu and select Run.
- In the Run field, type regedit and hit ENTER.
- Expand HKEY_CLASSES-ROOT.
- Scroll down and click on .html.
- Double-click on Default.
- In the Value data field, type
htmlfile
and click OK.
- Exit and save changes.
