Enabling Microsoft Authenticator for Remote Lab Use

Issue/Question

I need to use a WKU remote lab and do not have the Microsoft Authenticator app enabled. How do I do that? 

Resolution

Please select an instruction set below.

  1. Log into your student email account.
  2. Click your account icon in the upper-right corner. 
    Note: This may be a round icon with your initials in it, or it could be a picture that you may have uploaded for your profile. 
  3. Select My Account
  4. Click Security & privacy
  5. Click Additional security verification
  6. Click Set up Authenticator app
  7. Follow the onscreen instructions to download and set up the authenticator. 
  8. Click Next
  9. Verify the application login. 
  10. Your account should now be associated to the Microsoft Authenticator app. 
  1. Go here.
  2. Sign in using your WKU email address and NetID password
    Note: You may be asked to authenticate via Duo. Complete this to log into the account.
  3. Click your account icon in the upper-right corner.

  4. Select My Account
  5. Click Security & privacy
  6. Click Additional security verification
  7. Click Set up Authenticator app
  8. Follow the onscreen instructions to download and set up the authenticator. 
  9. Click Next
  10. Verify the application login. 
  11. Your account should now be associated to the Microsoft Authenticator app.
