Issue/Question
I need to use a WKU remote lab and do not have the Microsoft Authenticator app enabled. How do I do that?
Resolution
Please select an instruction set below.
- Log into your student email account.
- Click your account icon in the upper-right corner.
Note: This may be a round icon with your initials in it, or it could be a picture that you may have uploaded for your profile.
- Select View Account.
- Click Security Info.
- If the Default sign-in method is set to use the Microsoft Authenticator App, you may end here. If not, continue forward.
- Click Add method.
- Select Authenticator app.
- Click Add.
- Follow the onscreen instructions to download and set up the authenticator.
- Click Next.
- Verify the application login.
- Return to the Security info screen.
- If the Default sign-in method is set to use the Microsoft Authenticator App, you may end here. If not, continue forward.
- Click Change next to the Default sign-in method.
- Select Microsoft Authenticator - notification from the dropdown menu.
- Click Confirm.
- Your account should now be associated to the Microsoft Authenticator app.
- Go here.
- Sign in using your WKU email address and NetID password.
Note: You may be asked to authenticate via Duo. Complete this to log into the account.
- Click your account icon in the upper-right corner.

- Select My Account.
- Click Security & privacy.
- Click Additional security verification.
- Click Set up Authenticator app.
- Follow the onscreen instructions to download and set up the authenticator.
- Click Next.
- Verify the application login.
- Your account should now be associated to the Microsoft Authenticator app.
