Saving to Another Drive

Issue/Question

How can I save my work to an USB drive while AppStreaming?

Any work not saved to an external source (e.g., your device, a network drive, or a cloud service like OneDrive) will be destroyed and lost when the connection is closed and cannot be recovered.

Resolution

Saving to an external/USB drive is currently only available to Windows devices running the VMware Horizon Client app.

If your Windows device's home directory does not automatically appear as the Z drive in the streamed app, you can follow the instructions below to mount your C:/ drive manually.
  1. Open and log in to VMware Horizon Client app.
  2. Click  Settings.
  3. Click  Drive Sharing.
  4. Click Add.
  5. Navigate to the drive/folder you want to use in Horizon.
  6. Click Select Folder.
  7. Click Apply.
  8. Launch the desired app.
  9. When you are ready to save your work, click File > Save As.
  10. Click This PC. Your drive/folder will appear in the Network Locations section.
    Note: Each drive/folder you specify will appear as separate network locations.
