Adding Java Application Websites to the Exception Site List

Instructions for adding Java-based application sites to the Windows Exception Site List.

Issue/Question

How can I run java-based applications in a browser that are unable to launch due to security reasons?

Environment

• Windows 7+

Resolution

1. Navigate to the Control Panel.
2. Click on Java (32-bit).
3. Click on the Security tab.
4. Click Edit Site List....
5. Click Add.
6. Enter in the full URL of the java application.
7. Click OK.
8. Click OK again to exit the Java Control Panel.
9. Navigate to the URL in a web browser and click Run when prompted.
