Display Insert Panel as Horizontal Bar

Instructions for making the Insert Panel appear horizontally at the top of Dreamweaver.

Issue/Question

How do I display insert options at the top of my Document window?

Environment

• Adobe Dreamweaver

Cause

The Insert Panel includes numerous shortcuts for common code elements but is nested in the right-hand side by default.  It can be moved to the top of all documents to make file editing faster.

Resolution

1. Click . (Expand Panels).
2. Click and hold the Insert tab.
3. Drag tab to the top of the Document window immediately below the File, Edit, View, menu options.
4. When a horizontal blue line appears across the top of the Document window, release mouse button.
