Removing Activation Lock from WKU-Owned iPads

Issue/Question

I have a WKU-owned iPad displaying this message:

This iPad is linked to an Apple ID. Enter the Apple ID and password that were used to setup this iPad.

The previous user is not available to unlock/unlink the device.

Environment

  • WKU-owned iPad

Resolution

If ownership can be proven, WKU IT can contact Apple to have the iPad unlinked from the account and reset. Please contact the ITS Service Desk to start this process.
