Locking or Unlocking a Discussion Board Forum

Instructions for instructors to unlock or lock a Blackboard discussion board forum.

Issue/Question

My Blackboard discussion board forum displays a status of "locked." How do I unlock it?

Instructors

1. Log into Blackboard.
2. Navigate to the class in question.
3. Access the discussion board forum in which the change is needed.
4. While viewing in List View, select the checkbox next to each thread requiring a change of status (or check the Select All checkbox).
5. Click the Thread Actions drop-down menu and select Unlock.
6. The updated discussion thread status will appear in the Status column.
