Warnings About Emails Coming from Non-WKU Accounts

Information about email tags that were enabled October 17, 2018 on all WKU Exchange accounts alerting users that messages originated outside of the WKU Exchange server.

I have started seeing my email messages tagged with one of the following messages, what are they?

or

** This message originates from TopperMail.  Always use caution following links. **

Environment

Cause

On October 17, 2018, WKU ITS implemented a new feature with all WKU Exchange accounts. These messages are to alert users that the message originates from an account that does not end in @wku.edu so as to help promote cyber security through email. This feature cannot be disabled for individual users.
