Body

Issue/Question

How do I set up Locked Printing on a Ricoh printer?

Environment

  • Windows 10
    • MPS Ricoh Printer

Cause

Some departments require users to set up locked printing to keep confidential documents available only to those who need access to them.

Resolution

  1. Open Control Panel.
  2. Click Devices and Printers.
  3. Right click on the Ricoh printer you print to, and select Printing Preferences
  4. On the Setup tab under the Job Type dropdown menu, select Locked Print
  5. Click Details.
  6. Select to Create Own ID or Windows Login Name from the User ID: field.
Note: If Create Own ID is selected you will be prompted to enter a User ID that you create.
Note: If you do not know your User Code one may be provided to you by your Office Coordinator. Alternatively, you can specify your own code to use with Locked Printing. This code is not tied to any of your WKU accounts and cannot be reset by WKU ITS.
  7. Create or enter your passcode and click OK

When printing, the printer will now hold all documents until your passcode is entered.
