Environment
Resolution
If you used local folders to store mail previously in Outlook, you will need to add these folders back in order to access / add additional messages to those folders. Please see
this article for instructions on adding previously created local folders to Outlook.
- If it is open, close Outlook.
- Click the Windows button.
Note: On Windows 10 you may also right-click the Start button.
- Select Control Panel.
- At the top right, ensure View by: is set to Large icons or Small Icons.
- Select Mail.
- Click Show Profiles...
- Click Add...
- Enter a new Profile Name.
- Click OK.
- Proceed through the Auto Account Setup wizard.
- If prompted, authenticate with Microsoft MFA.
Note: If you receive message Allow this website to configure server settings?, check Don't ask me again, click Allow.
- After the profile has been added, return to the Show Profiles... menu.
- From the dropdown, select the new profile you just created.
- Click Apply to use this profile when opening Outlook.
- Click OK.
- Open Outlook.
Note: It may take some time to populate all emails / folders when Outlook first connects to the account.
