Turning Off Automatic Zeros in Blackboard

How do I turn off automatic zeros in Blackboard?

Cause

By default, Blackboard automatically applies zeros to past due items, which may not reflect the desired grading policy.

Resolution

1. Log into Blackboard.
2. Navigate to the course where you want to adjust gradebook settings.
3. Click on Gradebook tab.
4. Select Settings  gear icon located in the upper-right corner of the gradebook page.
5. In the settings menu, locate the option labeled Assign automatic zeros for past due work.
6. Toggle switch to Off to disable automatic zeros.
