Issue/Question
How do I, the instructor, view activity of a specific student within my course?
Environment
Cause
Instructors may need to verify certain activity for a specific student within course. Student Activity logs (within Gradebook) provide the following on individual students:
- Timestamps & activity details for accessing the course as a whole, course documents & Discussions
- Assessment-specific start & submission logs:
- Individual student assessment start & submission timestamps
- Attempt time length, final grade, and submission receipt ID

Resolution
- Navigate to Ultra course in Blackboard.
- Click Gradebook tab.
- Click Students tab.
- Locate student name within list. You may also search their name in Search.
- To simply view last accessed date, review date and time within Last Access column. If there is a hyphen (-) present, the student has not accessed the course.
- For more details, lick Activity Log. Note Start/End date & Event filters.
- If needed, click Download to download a CSV file of this log information.
To access the Assessment submissions log:
- Click the bar graph icon in the assessment submission row, within the Attempt Log column.
The Student Activity log can take up to 20 minutes to update from the last time a student performs an action.
