Last Modified Link Goes to a 404 page

Summary

Instructions to fix a 404 error when clicking the Last Modified date direct edit link on a Web CMS page.

Body

Issue/Question

When I click the Last Modified date link in the footer of a page, it takes me to a page with the following error message:

HTTP Status 404 - Not Found

Environment

  • Web CMS

Cause

Pages published before March 2022 have a Last Modified edit link pointing to an outdated CMS version causing a 404 error.

Resolution

Update the Last Modified link by republishing your page. This will ensure that your page uses the latest templates and edit link.

To access and publish a page without a direct edit link, navigate to it through the Pages menu.

  1. Visit the CMS Dashboard.
Note: You will be prompted to sign in if you are not already.
  2. In the top navigation menu, click Content.
  3. Select Pages.
  4. Use Filter input to locate your site folder by name.
  5. Locate page with broken edit link.
  6. In the row of that page, Click More Actions.
  7. Click Publish.
    • Add a version description such as Republishing to fix direct edit link and update to latest templates.
  8. Click Publish again.
