Issue/Question
How do I add someone to a Blackboard Organization?
Resolution
- Log into Blackboard.
- Select the My WKU Bb tab.
- Select the ITS: Organization Tools link.
- Click Manage Members for the Organization you wish to edit.
- You may upload a CSV file with the members' WKU ID Numbers. If you wish to use this method, please create the CSV, and click upload to upload the CSV into Blackboard. Otherwise, continue forward.
Note: This must be CSV file in CSV format. Each member's WKU ID Number (also known as the 800 number) should be listed only one per line. If these restrictions are not met this upload will not work. If you uploaded a CSV with WKU ID Numbers, you will be asked to pick a role for each member.
- Search for each member you wish to add.
Note: Follow these steps if you do not know the WKU ID number for the members:
- Search for the desired member by their NetID, WKU ID, last Name, or email.
- Click the Search button to search for the member's identification.
- Make your selection, select the appropriate role, then click Add.
- At the next Blackboard update, the member will be added. Reference the related article Update Times for the specific update time.
*Roles are defined as:
- Leader: Has full access to the Organization Control Panel. Is listed in the Organization Catalog as a Leader. Can also manage (add, change, delete) membership of the Organization.
- Assistant: Has full access to the Organization Control Panel. Is not listed in the Organization Catalog as a Leader. Can also manage (add, change, delete) membership of the Organization.
- Organization Builder: Can access everything on the Control Panel except Course Statistics and the Gradebook. Cannot manage membership of the Organization.
- Grader: Has limited access to the Control Panel. Can post announcements and access everything in the Assessment section. Cannot manage membership of the Organization. Can participate in Discussions, but not manage them.
- Participant: Has no Control Panel access. Can access all areas of the Organization from the Participant view.
