Windows IP Address Conflict

Issue/Question

When I boot up the computer I get the following Windows error: 

Network Error: Windows has detected an IP conflict. Another computer on this network has the same IP address as this computer. Contact your network administrator for help resolving this issue. More details are available in the Windows System event log. 

Environment

• Windows 7+

Resolution

1. Click the Start Button .
2. Type the following into the Search  bar then hit Enter: cmd
3. In the window that appeared type the following, then hit Enter: ipconfig /flushdns
4. Restart the computer.
5. If the Error continues contact the ITS Service Desk.
