Do I need to leave my computer on when I am not using it to install updates?
Environment
Cause
Windows 10 may prompt with a message stating that you should leave your computer plugged in and turned on to install Windows updates.
Resolution
It is not necessary to keep your computer on at all times. Windows Updates can install when the computer is on and in normal use. You may, if you elect, keep your computer turned on to download and prepare updates in the background, but this is not a requirement.
