TV Only Displays Contact Message

Issue/Question

My TV will only display the following message and is the only channel I can see:

If this is the only channel you are able to pickup please contact 270-745-7000

Environment

• WKU Campus Cable

Cause

WKU's cable TV signal is sent using a technology known as QAM (Quadrature Amplitude Modulation). Unfortunately not all TVs have a QAM tuner built-in. 

Resolution

1. Verify that you only receive the channel with the message noted above and no other channels. 
2. Check to see if your brand and model TV is in the list below. If it is, you will need to purchase a separate QAM tuner. The recommended tuner is the IView3500 STBII and can commonly be found online at retailers such as Amazon. 
3. If your TV is not on the list, please contact the ITS Service Desk or submit a service request.
