Issue/Question
Why can't I access certain websites?
Environment
Cause
Either a user of the machine or software on the machine has configured it to use a proxy server.
Resolution
- Start Internet Explorer.
- Click (Tools).
- Select Internet Options.
- Click Connections.
- Click LAN settings.
- Ensure that the box next to Use a proxy server for your LAN option is not checked.
- Click OK.
- Click on Apply and then OK to complete the process.
Note: If the proxy settings continue to revert back to enabling a proxy, there could be an issue with the Registry. The machine will have to be reformatted in order to fix the issue.
