How do I uninstall Microsoft 365 for Mac?
Environment
- MacOS
- Office 2016 for Mac
- Office 2019 for Mac
- Microsoft 365 for Mac
Resolution
- Open Finder.
- Click Applications.
- Move all of the Office for Mac applications (e.g. Lync, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft OneNote, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, and OneDrive) to the Trash.
- In Finder, press COMMAND+Shift+h to go to your Home folder.
- On the Finder menu, click View.
- Select as List.
- Click View.
- Select Show View Options.
- Click to enable Show Library Folder.
- In Finder, open Library.
- Open Containers.
- Move the following folders, if present, to the Trash:
- com.microsoft.errorreporting
- com.microsoft.Excel
- com.microsoft.netlib.shipassertprocess
- com.microsoft.Office365ServiceV2
- com.microsoft.Outlook
- com.microsoft.Powerpoint
- com.microsoft.RMS-XPCService
- com.microsoft.Word
- com.microsoft.onenote.mac
- com.microsoft.OneDrive.FinderSync
- In Finder, press (left arrow) to return to the Library folder.
- Open Group Containers.
- Move the following folders, if present, to the Trash:
Note: If you have local mail in Outlook, move the folders to your desktop, or another location, instead.
- UBF8T346G9.ms
- UBF8T346G9.Office
- UBF8T346G9.OfficeOsfWebHost
- UBF8T346G9.OneDriveStandaloneSuite
- UBF8T346G9.OneDriveSyncClientSuite
- UBF8T346G9.OfficeOneDriveSyncIntegration
- Empty the Trash to completely remove Office for Mac.
