Resolution
TopperTech has compiled a list of helpful information and tips to promote safe computing while at WKU.
Creating Strong Passwords
- Use passwords at least 8 characters in length.
- Use a mixture of uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols.
- Use a phrase or word that is easy for you, but hard for others to guess.
Email Security
- WKU will never ask for your information, passwords, or account credentials via email.
- Treat unexpected emails cautiously.
- Never open attachments from someone you do not know.
- Refer to this article to report spam or phishing emails.
Downloading Files
- Only download files from trusted sources.
- Do not download or share copyrighted files such as music or movies.
- Do not enable file and print sharing on your computer. This can lead to others accessing your files or spreading viruses.
