Setting Outlook to Open Links Using Default Browser

Why is Outlook opening links in Microsoft Edge when my default browser is different?

Environment

Cause

By default, Outlook opens links in Microsoft Edge.

Resolution

1. Click File.
2. Click Options.
3. Click Advanced tab.
4. In the File and browser preferences section, click the drop down next to Open hyperlinks from Outlook in:
5. Select Default Browser.
   
   Note: Hyperlinks in Outlook will now open in your default browser. View the Changing Default Browser article for instructions to change your default browser if it is not set to your preferred browser.
