How do I change the default web browser that opens when I click links?

Environment

Windows 10
Windows 11

Resolution

Windows 10

Click Start.
Click Settings.
Click System.
Select Default apps.
Under Web browser, click the program that is currently listed, and choose from the list of installed browsers.
The change saves automatically and you may close the Settings window.

Windows 11

Click Start.
Click Settings.
Click Apps.
Click Default apps.
Search for your preferred Web Browser in the Search Apps field and click on it from the list.
Click Set Default at the top of the the page.
