USB Microphone Not Available in Zoom Meeting

Issue/Question

I can't see or select my USB microphone in Zoom.

Environment

  • Zoom

Resolution

  1. Leave meeting by clicking End in bottom toolbar. If you are not host, select Leave Meeting to avoid ending session for other participants.
  2. Unplug USB microphone from computer.
  3. Plug USB microphone back into computer.
  4. Open Zoom Desktop Client and select Join.
  5. Enter Meeting ID provided by host and click Join.
  6. In meeting, click up arrow ( ^ ) next to audio icon.
  7. Select USB microphone from available audio input options.

Note: If you are using a Mac and are still having difficulty accessing your built-in mic, check your operating system permissions to confirm that Zoom has access to the mic

Note: If you are using Windows and are still having difficulty accessing your USB mic, Windows has a privacy feature that may block Zoom from using the mic. Learn more about this feature and how to allow Zoom access to your mic.
