How do I enable a Zoom Waiting Room when scheduling a meeting with the Zoom Client or Outlook?
Environment
Resolution
- Open your Zoom Desktop client to schedule a new meeting.
- Set your other meeting options.
- Click Advanced Options.
- Make sure Enable Waiting Room is checked.
Note: Even if the Join Before Host function is checked, it will not work if Enable Waiting Room is selected, as these two functions perform opposing tasks.
- Click Schedule to schedule your meeting.
- Open your Outlook calendar and double-click the event containing your Zoom meeting to make changes to it.
Note: If you are editing a recurring meeting, you must open the entire series to be able to make changes to the Zoom meeting.
- Click the blue Change Settings icon within the Appointment (if recurring, Appointment Series) ribbon at the top of the window.
- In the Security section, make sure Waiting Room is checked.
- Click save to save the changes to the Zoom meeting. The window will close and return to the Outlook event window.
- Save & Close to apply the changes to the Outlook event.
