Issue/Question
I have accidentally responded to a malicious email phishing scam. What do I do?
Environment
- WKU Email (Exchange/TopperMail)
Resolution
- If you have not responded to the message, see the related article Spam/Phishing Scam Instructions for instructions on reporting the message as phishing.
- If you responded to the message with account information (e.g., username and password), reset your email password as soon as possible and contact the WKU ITS Service Desk.
- If you responded to the message with demographic information (e.g., your name, address, Social Security Number, etc.), follow the above steps but also consider contacting the police to file an identity theft report.
