The self-help Knowledge Base is full of helpful articles with content driven by you, the WKU Community! The Knowledge Base houses numerous articles written by ITS to help with accounts, technology, and systems.
Leaving Feedback
Every article can be marked helpful or not. Please share with us if an article was helpful by clicking Yes. If the article was not helpful please let us know by clicking No. A text box will appear that you can leave us feedback in. ITS regularly monitors these comments and we consistently improve our content based on your feedback. We appreciate all feedback left for us.
Viewing Related Articles
Some articles are similar to others. When viewing an article, keep an eye out for the Related Articles section on the right side. You can click these related articles to view them. ITS relates articles that might be helpful when viewing certain topics.
Sharing Articles
If you come across an article that you would like to share with someone else in the WKU Community please click the Share button! When you click Share it allows you to send an email to someone containing the article's URL you would like to share it with. Please remember that some articles require a NetID login.
Searching Articles
There are three ways you can find articles in the Knowledge Base. You can browse through the category view and see all articles listed in that particular category , search by hashtags, or you can also search with phrases.
Browsing by Category View
- Click Knowledge Base.
- You will now see the Knowledge Base categories. Feel free to click through the categories to find what you are looking for.
- Once you select a category, you may use the Search this category box to find articles within that category.
Searching by Hashtag
Articles are labeled with hashtags. You can search for articles with particular hashtags by searching with a # before a word.
- Click Knowledge Base.
- Click Search.
- Type # followed with a word. For example, if you are searching for articles about Blackboard use #Blackboard.
- Click Search to pull up your results after selecting what you want to search for.
- You can now click any of the articles to view them.
Searching
- Click Knowledge Base.
- Click Search.
- Type in phrases. For example, if you are searching for an article on how to log into Blackboard search Logging into Blackboard. A list of suggest results will appear for you to choose from. You may use the following search operators to find specific results. Please make sure these search operators are in all caps such as the examples provided:
AND
: Requires that both terms are included in the results. For example, test AND quizzes
will find results including both test and quizzes.
NOT
: Requires that the term after NOT is not included in the results. For example, test NOT quizzes
will find results including test and exclude all results that include quizzes.
OR
: Allows results where either term is included. For example,test OR quizzes
will find results with either term. As the OR operator is the default search operator, the previous example would be equivalent to searching for test or quizzes.

: Requires that the exact phrase is included in the results. For example "test and quizzes"
will search for results including the exact phrase "test and quizzes".
#
: Searches for a tag, in areas that support tags. For example, #test
will search for articles that are tagged with the test tag.
