Finding a Lost or Deleted Email

Issue/Question

I cannot find an email, how do I get it back?

Resolution

 Note: WKU ITS cannot restore permanently deleted emails for Microsoft 365 accounts.

Note: Per University Policy 5.5054; Privacy of Electronic Information Policy: Faculty/Staff accounts are archived for 3 years and student accounts are archived for 1 year.

There are some places that you can check out to see if the email is still retrievable from within your account.

  1. Use Search.
  2. Check Drafts.
  3. Check Outbox folder.
  4. Check Sent.
  5. Check Deleted Items.
  6. Check user-created folders.
