Beeping Computer

Why is my computer making this awful beeping noise and not working?

Environment

• WKU Classroom Podium with Keyboard Tray
• WKU-Owned Computer

Cause

There are many causes of a beeping computer. A common cause is the keyboard tray wrist rest is mashing the keyboard and causing the computer to fail to boot.

Resolution

WKU Classroom Podium with Keyboard Tray

1. Move the keyboard so that it is no longer being mashed by the wrist rest.
2. Restart the computer.
3. If this doesn't fix the issue please contact the ITS Service Desk.

WKU-Owned Computer

1. Check to make sure nothing is resting on the keyboard.
2. Restart the computer.
3. If this doesn't fix the issue please contact the ITS Service Desk.
