There are WKU Remote Support and Chat icons on my desktop. When I delete them, they reappear. Is this a security risk?
Environment
Cause
This is caused by the Group Policy Objects created by WKU IT Administrators.
Resolution
WKU's system administrators may add shortcuts to your Desktop using a system called Group Policy. These icons may be persistent, i.e. they may not allow your to delete them or they may reappear after the computer is restarted. These shortcuts are provided for your convenience and to enhance the security of our environment; they are not a sign of malware infection.
Note: Due to the way these shortcuts are added, it is not possible to remove them upon request for individual users.
