Stopping Sleep Mode When Laptop Lid Closes

Issue/Question

I want to use an external monitor with my laptop, but it goes to sleep when closing the lid.

Environment

• Windows 7+

Resolution

1. Click Start, then Control Panel.
2. Select Small Icons from the View By select box.
3. Click Power Options.
4. Click Choose what closing the lid does from the menu on the left.
