Re-Enabling Spell Check

What do I do when the spelling and grammar checks don't show up in Microsoft Word?

Environment

  • Microsoft Word

Resolution

  1. Go to Review.
  2. Then Language.
  3. Under Set Proofing Language make sure that do not check spelling or grammar is unchecked

If the above does not resolve the issue continue to the steps below:

  1. Go to File.
  2. Then Options.
  3. Next, select Proofing.
  4. Scroll to the bottom and make sure that all the Exceptions are unchecked.
