Issue/Question
How do I turn on or off a specific content region or element of my page, such as the left or right column, or slider region?
Environment
Resolution
The content regions and elements that appear on a page are controlled through the page's properties. If while editing a page, a content region seems to be missing, it may be because that particular region or element is turned off in the page's properties. Please use the following steps on how to access a page's properties and configure them.
- Check out the page to be edited; the light bulb icon should be yellow.
- Access the page's properties one of two ways:
- From the File List view hover over the page's entry in the list and select Edit > Properties from the Options column.
- From the Edit or Preview views, click the Properties button above the page preview pane.
Note: If you do not see Page Parameters at this point, it is most likely because the page has not been checked out. Please insure the page has been checked out. If you continue to experience problems, please contact the ITS Service Desk.
- Find the appropriate content region or page element setting and adjust it accordingly.
- Click the Save button at the bottom of the page to save your page property changes.
- The desired content region and page elements should now be hidden or shown according to the values you set in the page's properties. For content regions and elements that were enabled, you should now be able to switch into the Edit view and edit them as you normally would.
