Issue/Question
I am a guardian who has a student at WKU. How do I access their accounts?
Cause
Students who are currently enrolled in higher education institutions or were formerly enrolled are protected by WKU ITS Policies and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA).
Resolution
Due to both ITS Policies 5.018 and 5.5033 and FERPA, the ITS Service Desk cannot give access to any student's WKU account(s) to anyone but the student. A FERPA Authorization to Disclose Confidential Information on file with WKU does not include rights to log in to or access ITS accounts.
