Issue/Question
I cannot use the Cut, Copy, or Paste options from my mouse's right-click menu in some text boxes in my browser.
Environment
- Mozilla Firefox
- Google Chrome
- Apple Safari
Cause
For boxes that have the capability to enhance the text (e.g., change font, size, color, etc.) Javascript is used. However, in most browsers the Cut, Copy, and Paste mouse-click functions in those boxes are not allowed.
Resolution
Keyboard shortcuts for the functions are allowed.
Windows
- Cut: control-X
- Copy: control-C
- Paste: control-V
Mac
- Cut: command-X
- Copy: command-C
- Paste: command-V
