Is there a recommended time frame of when to replace WKU-owned computers?
Resolution
To determine if a computer and its operating system are still supported by WKU ITS, refer to the Hardware Support Standards page and the Software Support Standards page.
Generally, between five and seven years, the reliability and/or responsiveness of a computer's hardware may no longer be sufficient to meet the demands of regular usage. Therefore, if a computer is not part of a regular replacement cycle, it is recommended to be replaced about five years after the original purchase date.
