Issue/Question
When I download a zip file, the computer automatically unzips it. How do I stop it, so I can keep the zip file compressed?
Cause
Safari has a default setting that opens safe files automatically after downloading. This affects files downloaded with any browser, not just Safari.
Resolution
- Open Safari.
- Click Safari in the title bar.
- Select Preferences.
- Select General.
- Uncheck Open Safe Files After Downloading.
