How do I save/archive voicemail messages I received on my iPhone so that I can keep them forever?
Environment
- Apple iPhone (iOS 9 and later)
Resolution
Method 1
If you only need to save a few voicemails, you may find it easiest to simply send them by email to yourself and then save them to your computer.
- Open the Phone app.
- Tap Voicemail on the toolbar.
- Tap the message you would like to save.
- Tap the Share button.
- Tap Mail.
The voice message is now attached to a draft email. You may address this email to yourself or others just as you would any other message.
Method 2
Voicemail messages are also saved in iOS back-ups, however, messages will not be readily accessible unless the entire back-up is restored to the device. To learn how to back-up your iPhone, visit Apple's knowledge base article How to back up your devices using iCloud or iTunes.
