Changing Windows Notification Sounds

I would like to change the notification sound for an event in Windows, such as low battery, new email, or error message.

Environment

• Microsoft Windows 7+

Resolution

1. Open Control Panel.
2. Open Sound.
    Note: The easiest way to find Sound within Control Panel is to type Sound in the Control Panel search box.
3. On the Sound dialog box, on the Sounds tab, under Program Events, click the name of the event for which you would like to change the notification sound.
4. Click Browse, and then select a different audio file. (Only .wav audio files are supported.)
5. Click OK.
