Cannot Connect to Library Database

Issue/Question

I'm having issues logging into or accessing a Library Database.

Resolution

Accessing library databases from off-campus requires authentication through proxy services. It is highly recommended to disconnect from VPN connections prior to accessing library databases to avoid interruptions.
Note: Public computers at schools and government buildings are not supported when accessing this system. You must use a privately owned computer.

Students / Faculty / Staff

  1. Ensure you are using the correct NetID and password.
  2. Set web browser to allow third party cookies
  3. If you are unable to log in after verifying correct NetID and password, access the Library's databases directly at https://libguides.wku.edu/az.php for access.
  4. Navigate to the database(s) in question and click to log in through the WKU Off-Campus login page

Walk-In

Per our licensing agreement, the WKU Library can provide unrestricted access to all our databases in the Commons at Cravens (Cravens Library 4th floor). Patrons will need to approach an employee at the research desk for assistance logging into the computers.

Alumni & Retired Faculty

Due to the licensing agreement with the database vendors, off-campus access is prohibited for Alumni. Librarians can assist in accessing the databases on-campus. You can access the databases from any of the computers located in the Commons located in Raymond Cravens Library, fourth floor. Please refer to the Library hours and a librarian will be available to assist you.

Note: If you are having trouble accessing the WKU Library Databases, please click here in order to request assistance.

Note: If you are ineligible to access the databases, we recommend to contact your local University/Institution to determine if they can assist with providing access to scholarly databases.
