Changing an ORG Site's Color Scheme

Issue/Question

How do I change my ORG site's color scheme, like those shown on http://orgs.wku.edu/funnymonkeys .

Environment

  • OU Campus
    • ORG Sites

Resolution

This is only for ORG sites.
Follow the steps below if your Org site has already been migrated to the new OU Campus template.
  1. Navigate to the root of your ORG site, by clicking on Content on the menu bar and then clicking the folder name of your site next to the home icon.
  2. Check out the _preferences.pcf file.
  3. Click Edit
  4. Click the MultiEdit Button.
  5. Select a new color from the Theme Color dropdown menu.
  6. Click Save to save the changes in staging
  7. Click Publish to have the changes take effect in production.
Follow the steps below if your Org site has not yet been migrated to the new OU Campus template.
  1. Navigate to the root of your ORG site, by clicking on Content on the menu bar and then clicking the folder name of your site next to the home icon.
  2. Open the includes folder.
  3. Hover over stylesheet.css and select Edit.
  4. Select   Source to edit the content.
  5. You will see four color schemes listed (Dark Blue, Green, Red and Light Blue), which are all commented out by default.
Note: CSS comments start with /* and end with */; anything between them will be ignored by the browser.
  6. To enable a specific style, remove the CSS comment tags (/* */) around the desired color scheme; add them back to disable a color scheme.
Note: Custom CSS directives/code can also be added to this document to extend the selected color scheme, or to create your own.
  7. Save and Publish the file.
