Disabling Automatic Video Playback

How do I disabled Firefox from automatically playing embedded videos? 

Environment

  • Mozilla Firefox

Cause

Mozilla Firefox has a built-in HTML5 video player that will automatically play videos embedded in web pages. To disable this, follow the resolution. 

Resolution

1. In Firefox's address bar enter: about:config
2. Click I accept the risk!
3. In the search box enter: media*play
4. Double-click media.block-play-until-visible item. 
5. Change the value from false to true.
6. Double-click the media.autoplay.enabled item.
7. Change the value from false to true. 
8. Close Firefox and re-open for the changes to complete.
