Issue/Question
How do I troubleshoot a Virtual Background in Zoom?
Environment
Zoom
MacOS
Windows
Resolution
Open the Zoom desktop client.
Click the
Settings
icon under your profile icon in the top right of the window.
If you do not see the
Virtual
Background
tab
in the options on the left in your Desktop Client settings after enabling it, sign out of the client and sign in again.
Ensure that your physical background is a solid color with minimal shadows. Also ensure the physical background is uniform in lighting.
If you are using a physical green screen, ensure that your green screen color
does not match
your shirt or eye color.
Note:
If you are still having issues, check to make sure your
Mac
or
Windows
device meets the system requirements for using the Virtual Background feature.
