How do I connect my Nintendo Wii to the internet?

Environment

  • Nintendo Wii

Resolution

The Nintendo Wii has to have a LAN adapter in order to be able to be registered on the WKU Network. The Switch LAN adapter will not work with the Wii.

Wired Connection

  1. Ensure that the LAN adapter is plugged into the back of the Wii.
  2. From the Wii Home Menu select the Wii Options button in the lower left corner.
  3. Choose Wii Settings.
  4. Scroll to the 2nd Page listing by selecting the right arrow button.
  5. Select Internet.
  6. Select Console Information.
  7. The MAC address will be displayed on screen.
  8. If you are still unable to get an internet connection, please submit an online request or contact the ITS Service Desk.

Wi-Fi Connection

The Nintendo Wii cannot get wireless access. The Wii has to have the a LAN adapter. The Switch LAN adapter will not work with the Wii.
