Issue/Question
My Mac takes a long time to boot.
Environment
macOS 10.10 (Yosemite) +
Resolution
Force turn off the computer by holding the power button for about 10 seconds.
Turn the Mac back on.
Immediately press and hold these keys simultaneously:
Option
Command (⌘)
P
R
The Mac will light up the screen, begin booting, then reboot.
When the screen lights up again, release the keys.
