Unexpectedly Clearing Browsing History in Firefox

Issue/Question

Firefox continuously deletes browsing history and active log in sessions each time I restart the web browser.

Environment

  • Firefox

Cause

Private browsing mode has been set to always run.

Resolution

  1. Open Firefox.
  2. Click the  Menu button.
  3. Click Settings.
  4. Click Privacy & Security.
  5. Scroll down to History. 
  6. Next to Firefox will drop down, select Never remember history.
  7. If the Firefox will drop down is set to Use custom settings for history, then select Remember history.
  8. Restart Firefox for new settings to be applied.
