Issue/Question
How do I make my recordings from Mediasite downloadable?
Resolution
Video tutorials and additional Mediasite information can be found by clicking
here.
Note: Recordings must be downloaded within the myMediasite portal.
To make a recording as a Publish to Go recording:
- Click the recording tile you want to change.
- Click Edit Details.
- Click Delivery.
- Click the check box next to the Publish to Go option.
- Click Save.
- The Mediasite server will then begin the process of creating a Publish to Go package of the recording. Depending on the server usage, this process may take up to 30 minutes.
Note: When creating and executing the download option of a Publish to Go recording, a zip folder is downloaded to your computer. Each portable presentation contains a launch file (Player.html) and all the files required to view them locally and/or offline. This zip folder must be unzipped before they can be played backed, hosted on a server, or copied to a CD or DVD. This zip folder will split the audio and video streams into seperate files and will require the use of a third-party video editing software to recompile the recording into one cohesive file. It is reccomended to use the Video Podcast / Vodcast option to achieve one cohesive file for offline viewing.
To make a recording as a Video Podcast:
- Click the recording tile you want to download.
- Click Edit Details.
- Click Delivery.
- Click the check box next to Vodcast option.
- Click on Select a Vodcast Project.
- Select Vodcast at 2.5Mbps from the drop-down menu.
- The Mediasite server will then begin the process of creating a Video Vodcast option of the recording. Depending on the server usage, this process may take up to 30 minutes.
Note: When creating and executing the download option of a Video Podcast recording, a single MP4 recording is created and placed onto your computer. The MP4 can then be viewed locally and/or offline.
